Suggested hikes for folks that aren't ice axe ready?

I would love to see some suggested hikes for those of us who know better than to buy an axe and crampons and hope for the best. I am going up Saddleback next week in Orange County for example, but anything lower altitude in the SJ region the group would recommend during the winter months

There are several peaks in the Santa Rosas that are great hikes at lower elevations.
