On Skyline with the Greyhounds

Howdy All

Ran into Scott2 and Robin at the Desert museum at about 6 AM last Sat As I headed up, Doreen and Hengst Joe arrived. At about 1 K, Scott was coming back down to retrieve his fanny pack. A guy running up the trail with two dogs went by on the ridge above Shade Rock -- one dog stayed with me for a bit -- he could tell I needed the moral support Even with the extra mileage and time, Scott and Robin passed me at about 4.3 K -- they were kind enough to retrieve my blue long sleeved shirt that I didn't know I'd lost on the trail

I heard voices as I approached the rescue box at 5.5 K -- low and behold -- the dynamic duo (Steve and Fern), Patti, Scott and Robin were chatting and waiting for me It was a blast to hike in the cool temps with my fast friends on an absolutely stellar day. We donned microspikes for the traverse and scrambled up through the rocks to the tram viewing platorm. Had various beverages at the bar and shared a cab back to the museum.

Thanks to my fast friends for your company and for letting the old blond mare tag along

Don't sell yourself short, your "mileage" in the last couple of months is showing, you were on fire! You go girl...

No problem picking up your belonging along the way, at least they were well marked and there was no doubt as to who the owner was...good thing I knew you were on the trail or I might have thought a horrific microspike accident had occured...

Hey Ellen,

you are a "pain sister", you just keep on chuggin up that mt.
We were keeping a good pace, (until Fern pulled out that huge carnivorous sandwich at Flat Rock), and you kept a good, steady, consistence pace with us.

That guy with those 2 dogs was motoring indeed, he must have gone close to 4k.

Funny thing, there's been some (shall we say less than honorable individuals drinking the "Emergency Water" & even leaving the empties for others to lug out), we'll Steve & Fernando actually Found some water bottles, With H20 in them this time, maybe somebodies stash, but in plane sight, so, hopefully there's emergency water again!

It was a great day, us desert rats coulda used a bit more sunshine, but I know you enjoyed it, even Fern was pulling off clothes.

See you again on the trail for now, before the "real" snow hits!

Bloody blonde hiking strikes again I recall that Scott2 liked my tie dyed bandana (pistachio green covered with blood).

Howdy Scott

Fern specifically carried that sandwich to give me a chance to catch up at Flat Rock Otherwise, I was tempted to jump him for it

I loved the cool weather -- even the hail at the traverse. You and Steve were so funny that I was keeping warm by laughing

I'm looking forward to getting a few more Skyline's in before we break out the snowshoes
