Skyline in Late June/ Full Moon Dates?

Postby TRumble24 » Tue May 01, 2007 7:40 pm

Hey folks,
I am planning on my next Skyline excursion being in late June, does anyone know if there is a full moon anywhere in that vicinity? I am bringing a couple of my friends from work who are Skyline virgins. We are planning on starting at midnight to try and beat the heat and direct sunlight, timberline by sunrise is the goal. I know what to expect having been born and raised in Palm Springs and having done Skyline in the dead of summer before.
It'll most likely be a weekend hike so I am looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you on the trail. We will probobly take an easy pace and enjoy the pain :D , slow and steady wins the race. Any input on the full moon or anything else is appreciated.
"You may be a little cold some nights, on mountain tops above the timber-line, but you will see the stars, and by and by you can sleep enough in your town bed, or at least in your grave." - John Muir

Hi Trumble,
Full moon is June 1st,Friday it rises at 21:04.
Figure 50 mins. earlier or later each day before or after that date.
So, approx. just before 10pm on Sat for the moon to come up.
