Did skyline today and noticed that both boxes have been opened and all the water and gaderade has been used. Just wanted to give the heads up.

I suppose that it was inevitable that this would happen, but unless it was a true emergency (which seems impossible, as both boxes were opened) I had certainly hoped it would be longer before it occurred. Go figure.

Were the first aid kits, cellphone, or flashlight still in the boxes?

I did skyline on the Friday prior (first timer), and both rescue boxes were still sealed. That's a shame if not truly used for an emergency.

I spoke with two separate groups of two young men - both going up Skyline to the tram on Monday. At 10:30am I was at 2000 ft coming down and they were just going up. Can anyone say "late start."

Went up skyline today. It was a gorgous day. The first rescue box (Rescue 1) had been opened, but everything seemed to be in there except only 1 two liter bottle of water. The second rescue box (Rescue 2) didn't have any water at all. It was also missing the umbrella and the cell phone. In addition, someone had left four empty two liter water bottles strewn about the base of the box. So... some friggin knucklehead drinks all the emergency water, then tosses the emptys. I guess they were expecting room service or the Sparkletts man to take care of the trash. I stuffed all the emptys in my pack, and brought them home to recycle. Also at Florians bucket, there was an empty gallon water bottle. Sorry I didn't get this one, but my backpack was bursting at the seems. Anyway... hope everyone has a good weekend walking around.

Sincerely

Skunk
