Considering Hiking Skyline October 30 or 31st

My wife and I are considering driving up from San Diego to do the Skyline trail and maybe the entire Cactus to Clouds hike. We did the Skyline back in April so am familar with that trail. We are trying to find out if there are any weather concerns on either that lower or upper trail we should be concerned about. Also we started at 5:30am in April, with the shorter days right now what is the best time to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also this is the first time I've been on the site for a while and am concerned what I'm seeing about the BLM swap. Will definitely look at writing my concern.

We just did skyline today and the weather was pretty nice. It was cool but not cold, I was done by the time we got to the tram but 2 of the guys in our group were going to go to the summit. The ranger told them there was some ice but not enough to need crampons. They decided not to go, so maybe some of the others that went up this weekend could chime in.

Friends of mine went to the peak Sat, hit snow above Tamarack (9,500 approx), but not much at all, was 80-90% coverage then,
Doesn't appear that the rain OC is getting is converting to snow in the mtns at present, check out the tramcam.

Just finished C2C on Sunday. Hit snow just before the notch looking to the south but nothing major. There was quite a bit more at the bottom of the last 2 switch backs before the summit in the shade but just a little muddie and slushy. At the top there was even more snow but nothing you need special gear for. Just keep an eye on the weather reports for the right clothing.
