Maybe I spend too many hours out there on the trail by myself, but I had also thought of a Halloween prank - get a big 4' orange helium balloon, put a couple of light sticks in it, then go up the trail just after dark. You could even paint a face on it if you wanted to. It wouldn't weigh anything, but it would look weird, oddly making its way up the mountain. It would be interesting to tie it off on the overlook just before flatrock where the tram riders could see it as they passed by.
