Tramway

How lucky we are to live in PS. How many places can you hike most of the year & have the tramway to take us to the cool mountains in the summer. How inconvenient it would be to have to drive to idyllwild or BB to hike at lower elevations. Even with the screaming tourists going over the towers & listening to Ottmar Liebert at full volume I soon forget all that as I hike the trails at 10,000 feet.

I've sort of come to enjoy the whole tramway experience. Including the screaming tourists as we go over the towers. I need to figure out a way to get the floor rotation to always stop when i'm aligned with a door however.

Florian, my observation is that the floor of the tram does about two full rotations on the way up. In other words, if (at the bottom) you stand by the door that you want to exit out of when you get to the top, the tram floor's rotation should bring you right to your exit exit door. Try it some time and let me know how it goes.

I always try to be the last person on the car so i'm always standing at the door when the car departs. About half the time i'm back at a door when the rotation stops.

I just want to get ahead of the shuttle bus going down. I pass cars like a bat out of hell but you're not suppose to pass the bus.

Driving down yesterday afternoon there was a police car parked at the old gate below the lots. Speed trap maybe?

Florian, in my experience the car rotates two and one quarter times on average. I've seen anywhere from two to two and a half.
