How long does it take to get a State Wilderness permit?

Just how long does it typically take to process applications by mail? I sent the app into the State Park office two weeks ago and haven't heard back. Followed all the instructions, even including a SASE. A friend and I were planning to go up for an overnight trip this weekend but we're getting worried about no response (either yeah or nay). I like to plan ahead and get a WP before setting out. I'd hate to drive out from Orange County and be turned away! [/i]

i also have plans of going (good friday weekend) i called the ranger station the other day and they told me that we should have no problems getting a permit for that weekend in Round valley camp ground. I ask how long it would take and she told me that i would have it back by that weekend. so if you dont get it back in the mail, i would still go try to get one at the ranger station. they also told me to fill out ALL of the form (including licience # of your car or they will send it back rejected)
