C2C this Weds/Thurs

Postby kevin trieu » Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:51 pm

Hey folks,

Are there anybody out there wanting to head up from the museum this coming Weds/Thurs and hopefully get all the way to the peak of San Jacinto? I know it is a weekday and people are probably working but I thought I'd give it a shot. I haven't been on the trail in a while and thought I'd go out and enjoy San Jacinto with some snow on it.

Cheers,
Kevin

If you're comfortable with ice, it might be a good time to do C2C because you'll be moving along pretty fast on top of the snow/ice all the way to the summit. Save some miles between Long Valley and the summit by skipping Round Valley and going direct to Tamarack Valley and then up to Miller Saddle - I think it's about 6.5 miles round-trip that way and the regular trail route is 10 or 11 miles round-trip from Long Valley.
