Permits for Santa Rosa Wilderness

Postby Andy » Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:59 am

Does anyone know if a permit is required for overnight backpacking in the Santa Rosa Wilderness...Cactus Spring, Martinez Cnyn, etc..? If so, who would the issuing agency be?

Thanks in advance.

Andy:

I do not believe that there is a permit necessary for that area. I may be in the area on Friday nite for a quick overnite myself.

No permit is needed. There is a registration sheet at the Cactus Spring trailhead but that's all.

You do need an adventure pass to park, though.

Hal:

I believe that they have waived the Adventure Pass at the Pinyon Parking Lot, have been there several times without issue.
