Snow Creek to Tram Full Trip Report 11/17

I finally got the blog updated. Last night after my bath I went straight to bed and then went hiking this morning and to work.

Only a few little patches in the shade, none on the trail.

I am going to spend the night at my father-in-law's. I'll try to be there between eight and nine if that's OK. I don't want to be there too early because I don't want to sit around freezing. I don't know what time people are going to be getting there. It probably shouldn't be too early because the snow might be icy early.

I'm thinking I might bring some chairs, a tent, some fluids and I'm going to check on a fire permit. I figure a five gallon water igloo and another small water container plus a couple of gallons of 2X strength Gatorade. People can cut it with the water to their liking or if they bring powder they can use their own.

My guess is that it will be around freezing in the morning because the area is at around 7850 feet.

I also have a radio. Mine is set on Channel 17/1.

I'll also have a cellphone but reception is spotty at the bailout point although it is pretty good on most of the trail.

I'm open to suggestions.

I plan to be one of the "bail-out" people. I will be leaving at around 3:30 with the others. I'm not sure how long it will take me to get to you, as I've never done this trail. Please just wait for a short person with a purple pack.

Does anyone know if there is snow on the trail to the summit? Weather conditions? We're planning on heading up on Saturday.

I wonder if we can talk Hal into making his 365th hike a walking party ? If it doesn't need to be more spiritual, or a personal hike, maybe he'd be interested. And we can carry his water and food.
