Any skyliners going up Sat?

Postby michael » Tue Nov 17, 2009 8:12 pm

Just curious.
I plan on getting a skyline..or two in...this Sat. Any early morning risers? (this is me at 3am)
Figured I start at 3-4am...try to make it up by 8ish to the tram.
let me know so as not to mistake headlamps for UFO's/ghosts/well packed mountain lions...

time crunch

Postby michael » Wed Nov 18, 2009 3:06 am

Hi Zip!

I would love to do snow creek but Im concerned about the time crunch. I have to be on the road driving home by 2:30pm the absolute latest. Im afraid I might not make it back if i do the longer snow creek one since i have no point of reference on the time it would take me with a heavy pack of water/supplies over such a distance (though im very confident i could complete it...just not sure how fast i would go...this sentence migth actually be long than the hike...english teacher woudl be !@#...).

I migth even skip the 2nd sky if im even remotely behind or feeling week). :(

Thank you for the invite though!

Don't give up yet! halhiker is going to be there at the 17 mile point. If you're not confident on time, you could ride back down with him. If it's early and you feel strong, there are 8.5 uphill and 5.5 downhill from there to the tram.

I understand about the time crunch - I often have to skip a run or cut it in half to make my time commitments. Actually, that's why I took up trailrunning instead of hiking.

If it sounds like the bailout point might work for you, I hope to see you there. If not, have fun on Skyline.
