Interesting c2c trip report from 2003 tram closure

Here is an intesting c2c trip report epic from 2003 when the tram was closed for maintenance. It is not the trip report from 2000 when the hiker started a forest fire. That is on rmru.org

Insane, the same thing happened to me, I hiked C2C in October of that year and the tram was still closed for maintenance. Was not as hardcore as this guy though, as this was the second hike of my life, with the first hike from the tram to the summit. Hiked all the way back down as well!

This type of incident seems to be more common than I thought, but hikers are reluctant to admit it. I wonder why no one hikes out to Humber Park near Idyllwild especially in hot weather. For jelly knees and soft toes like mine, it would be an easy choice to make. I guess it must be the thought of getting back to Palm Springs. Flatfoot did c2c and hiked out to Idyllwild.
