Mt Baldy: ski hut trail

San Gorgonio: vivian creek trail

San Jacinto: first half of cactus to clouds

If you live along the I-10 in california it should be easy to access any of these.

I should rephrase.

The first half of skyline trail. (8 miles out and back, ~4,000 ft elevation gain).

If you start at the end of Ramon Rd. and go up.
You can go as far as you want and back down, increasing your distance as you get stronger.

I know a couple people who live in Palm Springs who did this to prepare for cactus to clouds.

Hi Chris. sm was right on - I'd recommend the same. If you want to kind of simulate the up without having to get the pounding of coming back down, you could always bring a bike up at the top of the tram road in your car, leave the bike and drive back down, hike/run up the tram road, and then bike back down. I did that a couple of times getting ready for C2C, and it helped reduce the recovery time.

Hope to see you out there!
