Hiker Airlifted From Art Smith Trail

An injured hiker was airlifted from the Art Smith Trail in Palm Desert today and taken to a local hospital.

Emergency crews were sent at 7:52 a.m. to tend to the hiker, who was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, said Cal Fire spokesman Casey Hartman.

The hiker's injuries were described as minor.
