Skyline Trail /c2c in November and December

I hope to do C2C in December. I know that no one cares about that, but it's the only excuse I had to start a new thread and let September and October fade into the past. :D

Hi Alan. Thanks for the repost. If you're heading up Skyline this weekend, maybe we'll meet in person on the trail. If not, I'm thinking the trail may stay clear through December if the rumors of an El Nino are correct.

Cy, I'll most likely see you out there. What time are you leaving this week?

Z -- I won't make it out that far east until my son's HS cross country season is over. But the two of us are hoping to get in a C2C in December, maybe the 9th. We'll see.

Skyline Trail/c2c in September and October and November

Postby Cy Kaicener » Sun Nov 19, 2006 11:30 am

There are three people going with me on November 25 th at 3.00 or 3.30 am from the museum. It should be a busy long week end. Eleven people passed me on the trail this past Saturday including another Sierra Club group from San Diego.

Wow, it is getting busy out there on Skyline! I decided to go up San Gorgonio instead, and saw absolutely no one all the way to the top. I had the peak to myself, and it was warm and quiet - almost no wind at all. Gorgeous day. Maybe some of the usual traffic was over enjoying Skyline instead.

Hi Cy.

After I switched last weekend to the San G Wilderness, I'll probably go this Saturday on Skyline, so I hope to see you and your party along the way. I usually start around 5:00, so with any luck I'll run into you guys along the way. I'll be taking this one a little more slowly (I have a 50k run in Ridgecrest on December 3rd, so I'm trying to let my legs heal up and get ready for that) so perhaps we can pause a bit and trade a couple of stories this time.

By the way, if snow will hold off, I'll probably do the PCT again in the next few weeks, and I'll take a few pics along the way so I can post them. It's a beautiful alternative to Skyline, though I do have to admit I enjoy the company of those I run into on Skyline as opposed to the solitude of the PCT.

Anyone else heading up on Saturday?
