Best Day on San Jacinto EVER!

Postby halhiker » Wed Jun 03, 2009 7:49 pm

Went up San Jacinto from the tram today and it was AWESOME. Lightning, hail, wind and incredible views. I watched lightning hitting around Hemet for about 20 minutes. Of the dozens of times I've climbed San Jacinto, today was my favorite.

Read the report on my blog.

" dippin dot hail.." boy are you really showing the age of the people you hang out with there.

I am so envious Hal, I watched that hill all day wishing I was up there. Thanks for bringing back a sense of what it was like, glad you were able to get enough time out of your schedule to sneak up there on such a perfect day.

Thanks for the photos.

btw....guess what favorite trail of yours I got to do today ?

sounds nice. I had an occasion like that on Baldy, crazy weather around made for very cool views.

also like the mention of this short trail to the summit, i'll keep that in mind for next time I'm up there.

Howdy Hal :D

Fabulous trip report and pictures, thanks 8) I got good chills reading it.

I'm glad to see that the San Jacinto bunk bed and breakfast is now stocked with suitable anesthetic beverages.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Great report. Love the fine photos. We camped Tuesday 6/2/09 night at RV but got scared off by lightning at Wellman Divide. Standing on the Peak in a lightning storm didn't seem like a good idea. Glad you enjoyed it and lived to tell about it. SanJack
