Mt. San Jacinto Outdoor Recreation

Okay people, I'm thinking this should fun and convenient for everyone, so how about getting together at my place (in Yucaipa) after a trip up San Gorgonio one Saturday this month or in July?

Let's get a bunch of responses so we know when people are available, then we'll just pick a date. You wouldn't have to do the San G part if you don't want to or currently can't (say, Hikin' Jim, for example, with that bum knee), just getting everyone together will be fun. Saturdays coming up are

June 13

June 27

July 11

Any thoughts?

I think you could whack July 4 off the list. Most of us will probably be throwing tea into a harbor somewhere . . . or some similar festive activity.

Funny you should bring this up. For some strange reason I was looking at the number of posts I had made on this BB and noticed I'm in the top 20 post-ers. Maybe I'd be obliged to show my face at a gathering. Just not July 4.

I'm not a fan of hiking in groups larger than 3 or 4...but I'd happily be social with y'all on the San G summit or after, if I can crash your party!

I used to be a Hike Leader, and I got totally burned out on the group hiking thing. I may recover from that one day...

You're soooo awesome to invite us!! Thanks! Steve didn't mention-we're in for the hike up San G, as well as the get together at your place. Sounds like a blast!

Thanks zip, great idea - I can't make it on June 13, the other options look good so far.

(I'll probably be scuba diving on the 4th, fishing tea out of some harbour

This is a great idea for a get together. The best date to get the greatest number of people on one particular day is to have a group hike with a fast and slow group. Yucaipa is a central location for most of us except those living in Palm Springs. Everyone should bring some item of food (or drink) to attract the injured (besides the comraderie.)
