I also enjoyed several sips of beer at the San Gorgonio Tavern on Saturday. The weather and company were terrific.
Apparently someone found these balloons on the trail and carried them to the summit to celebrate. I suppose the ranger decided it would be easier to deflate them before packing them out.

I didn't have the legs Monday to do Skyline. Kathryn kindly accompanied me on "Walt's Loop." We went up to Wellman's, down to Saddle Junction,
walked the first 0.6 mile of the trail to Law's camp and then went north back to the trail to Willow Creek. We ran into Ranger Andy who checked our permit -- it's clear he's happy to be in the wilderness. We had lunch by Willow Creek before crossing, then headed up to Hidden Divide and back to the tram.
A wonderful day topped off by cold Flat Tire at the tram bar. The only downside -- it took me over 1 1/2 hours to get back to Riverside due to the holiday traffic returning from the river.
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
