Looking For Snowshoe Partner Saturday February 7th

Postby calicokat » Fri Jan 30, 2009 8:25 pm

Hello all, looking to climb up San Jacinto next Saturday and was wondering if anyone with experience would like to accompany me to the top. I have climbed San Jacinto many times in the non winter and have some snowshoe/crampon/ice axe experience in the San Gabriels and Yosemite....but still a novice in the grand scheme of winter mountaineering.

I have never climbed up to the top of San Jacinto in the winter and would love a tour/guidance :D

Sunday Snowshoe

Postby Ellen » Wed Feb 04, 2009 9:23 pm

Howdy Steve :-)

I'd love to snowshoe/hike with you again.

Howdy Calicokat :-)

Weather permitting, I'd like to take the first tram up on Sunday and use the snowshoes instead of carrying them.

Let's stay in touch via this forum.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Ellen:

If you are going on the first tram on Sunday, I'd like to join you and the others on this thread. I have a lot of experience on SJ from Humber Park but not from the Tram in the snow. Glad you are well and ready and willing to lead again!

What time do we need to be there to be sure we make the first tram?

All of this is weather permitting of course!

Thanks very much.

I'm probably headed up Sunday too - first or second tram car. I'll probably be moving slow though as I'm still trying to get over a cold. I hope to run into some of you up there.
