Postby calicokat » Sun Nov 09, 2008 5:35 pm

Wanted to climb up San Jacinto, Jean and Marion tomorrow via the tram. I know its going to be cold, but is there going to be ice/snow to deal with???

Just got back from the peak via Humber Park. There's an inch or two of snow from Humber all the way to San J. Was no problem today because it's freshly fallen but I'm not sure what a thaw/freeze will do to the trail.

I just read in the Desert Sun that snow has fallen on San Jacinto. It may not last long.

snow and ice

The snow seems to be settling in around 8,000 ft. Ice House Saddle had a thin crust of hail, Ontario Peak was frosted, as well.
