Anybody doing Skyline on Saturday, 9/27?

The tram is reopening that day, so I was wondering if many people will be doing Skyline. Right now I'm planning on it, and I always enjoy seeing friends on the trail...so, anyone going to be out there?

Make sure the tram is really going to open on time. They have been known to postponed the reopening.

Talk about synchronicity -- I was considering posting about doing Skyline as well. My pace will obviously be much slower than yours, but perhaps I can start early enough to see you at Long Valley or the tram station.

Whatever I do that weekend, it will be my last hike before driving to the Grand Canyon to hike rim2rim2rim for the second time

I am thinking of it on 9/27 or 10/4. Hopefully there wont be a heat wave to throw a wrench in the works. Udi is doing it on 10/4

Hey Jim, you're as much a man of the trail as anyone I've ever met. When are you going to come out here and do Skyline? Seems like the ideal trail for problem knees. I hear it heals broken ankles so rapidly that crazy people head off and do Mt Whitney for no apprarent reason shortly after they're healed up from injury! Maybe it's the same medicine for knees!

But seriously, it'd be fun to run into you and some other posters here as the season picks up. Let me know if you'll be out this way.

lol. I think that only applies if you're from the planet Krypton or named Ellen, but I repeat myself.

The knee has been doing better, but I'm still keeping it wrapped even for just around town. Dunno if "Ellen therapy" is for me.

Always fun to bump into people from the board. I enjoyed seeing everyone at the "Top of the Tram" picnic we did in '07 and at Cy's B day gathering at Las Consuelas. Not sure about Skyline this year. The knee has kept me from going full intensity and I've taken time off from my training schedule. I'm not in such great shape right now.

However, I will be out in the SJW Oct 4 -5 for a little backpack. I'll be going up the S Ridge Trail to Tahquitz Pk and then down to Little Tam with a possible side trip out to Red Tahquitz.

I'll be out in the SGW the following weekend, possibly exploring the abandoned trail to Mtn Home Flats; final trip plan still TBD.

LOL, its not my favorite thing, its an aquired taste. i have two friends that i do this with, from time to time. if i had my choice i would rather stay at a spa.....

I was considering it but it's warming up again and the forecast says 104 on Saturday.

After suffering above Flat Rock on a 110 day in May (thank you again, Tina!) I vowed to never again deliberately subject myself to abject misery on Skyline!
