Where did you hike this week end

General Palm Springs area.

When that forecast called for hot weather I decided the Tram Road wasn't a good idea for me and headed to the Sierra instead - I did a nice day hike out to Mount Rixford from Onion Valley yesterday.

Who won the Tram Road Challenge this year?

Thanks for the encouraging words Ellen and Fight On :)
The results have still not been published on the internet, but last year Perry had the fantastic time of 30.25 minutes coming in second. This was just 27 seconds slower than Tim Van Orden.
It would be interesting to find out how Zip did.
Kathy - I thought you made a good choice by going to the Sierras

Hi everybody.

I believe Cy or someone else at the race said Perry had to work, and I didn't see Perry's name on the results at the top, so I assume he wasn't there.

Cy, I couldn't quite break 40:00! I ended up at 40:45. I was hoping for 39:59, but that's a serious hill, that's all I can say! It was fun, I hope to do it again next year. Still, it'll be fun to be back out on the trail again.

Dude! That's 5.45 mph! How steep is it anyway? Elevation gain? (It is 3.7 miles long isn't it?)

Thanks FIGHT ON! I think I saw 2100 feet of elevation gain on a website somewhere, but when I look on my topo program it looks more line 1900. It's kind of a toss-up as to whether running or walking is faster, much like the Run to the Top on Baldy. Maybe try it out next year?

Well done Zip - That was a fast time 8)

At a mountain marathon in England, 2500 runners were stranded by floods, but have now all been accounted for

It seems like Kathy had a little adventure in the Sierras - Great pictures
