Water Sources on San Jacinto

Camped at Round Valley this past weekend (Aug 29th - Sept 1st) and there was plenty of water at the spring to go around. Although it was a fairly slow trickle (maybe a gallon every 10 to 12 minutes), it was more than dripping and I had no problem collecting a couple gallons for each trip to the spring. I talked to a state park employee and he said he wouldn't be surprised if the spring dried up within the next month or two. He said it has dried up in the past (approx. 5 years ago) during another dry year. If you plan a backpacking trip up there before next Spring I suggest getting a status update on the Round Valley spring a day or two before you head up there and possibly be prepared to carry your own water in.
