Saturday October 9th is fast approaching...are you ready :?:

Hello everyone, just got back in town from a two week trip back to NY...squeezed in one last ultra marathon  before our C2C2C

Three weeks from Saturday is our C2C2C hikapalooza.

For those of you intending to do all of the C2C2C, or any portion of it, on Saturday October 9th, please read my initial posting(s) regarding preparation, what to expect, bail out points (and when you no longer can bail out  ) water availability and water cache.

I would still like to get an idea of what to expect in terms of the # of people who are planning on doing all or part of our C2C2C...please let me know if you're coming and if you expect to do all or what portion of C2C2C.

Some people are doing the full c2c while others are doing two (or more) Skylines. At what time are people starting?
Here is a trip report on the full c2c which fast hikers can compare their times with

I might see some of you up there (unless there is a heat wave), as you shoot by.
. Please visit my website at www.hiking4health.com for more information especially the Links.

Hello everyone I have been following your thread for a few weeks. I was hoping to get a group of my freinds together and start the hike the same day as you guys (company on the trail) but after my recent expeditions, I just finished San G and Mt Baldy (last two weeks) and a hiked from TM to the valley floor (Vogelsang camp in the snow) in June, I seem to be the only one ready. I may join your group but i will let you know for sure, i only want to do the CTC and then tram it down though.

Hey Zé: I was thinkin' about 3 or 4 Skylines, but it's still too early in the season, the heat would probably burn me up in the afternoon. Here's the averages for the 9th:

Average High 94°F Low 64°F Record High 110°F Low 44°F

The lows, of course, would be no problem. But dehydration on repeat Skylines is an issue even when it's cool, so heat would end the adventure prematurely.

Instead of repeat Skylines, there's always the thought of just doing a couple C2C's. This might be fun if a group of us did a C2C on the afternoon/evening of the 8th, getting to the peak in the darkness (I'd love to see the view at night), then came down on, say, the 9:00 tram, got dinner and drinks, slept for a few hours, then got started again at first light. (Okay, that was a horrible run-on sentence!)

Anyone wanting to do the full C2C2C either twice or just on the second trip could fit it in since the timing is right.

Just a thought. Anybody think that sounds like fun?

lesper4: Some good hikes you're doing there. Looks like you're in good shape for Skyline. There will be lots of people on the trail, so you'll be in good company with friendly people. Hope to see you out there!

Yeah they are pretty good...the San G hike was not just up and back either. We started at Forest Falls, stayed a night on Dollar Lake View and then headed on through to Angeles Forest (Via 9 peaks). 26 miles total of much was above 10k (and we carreid lots of water).

I got one friend who might go with me but others then I may have to convicne to go up the tram adn then to San J.
