Snow Creek to tram -- who's on?

General Palm Springs area.

Count me in for the section from Snow Creek Village to Fuller Ridge Campground if I fit in the logistics puzzle. Will bring my abnormal pace and will try to keep up.

Lee: Great! Watch out though - this trail is very tempting for photographers.

Alan: I can't believe you found that specific Young Frankenstein shot!

See everyone soon!

Little longer-term planning here, but I was considering doing this hike next spring as an overnight round trip (up to the summit and back down) to take advantage of utilizing the snow patches as a water source. Might post up in MArch-April to see if anyone is interested. I did quite a bit of the PCT through the San Bernardino Mtns this spring/summer, might try doing some in the San Jacintos/Santa Rosas next year.

FYI - Someone above (Zippitydude?) mentioned Mission Creek. That area of the PCT changes every year as the snowmelt runs down it and 'rearranges' (to put it mildly) the boulders in the steeper portions of the creekbed/canyon. Thru-hikers usually have to 'ad-lib' that portion of the PCT and rock scramble up through that area. Its probably stablized and OK to try it out at this time of year, just step carefully and watch out for loose rocks and boulders.

Heck, just rent the movie; its hilarious! Great for a recovery day; it'll make your sides as sore from laughing as your legs are from hiking! :D

Phydeux, I don't want to further contribute to the thread drift here, but if you catch me on a trail sometime I'll tell you about how laughing at Young Frankenstein once put me into the hospital for emergency surgery. That's some poweful humor!

Thank you, z, for the pictures of Snow Creek. Now I know what you meant by "Blair Witch Project." Hopefully there are others who want to do just the 17-mile section to Fuller Ridge Campground. If I were to try the whole enchilada, I see myself topping out at the peak shelter after about 16 hours (25 miles?) and having to spend the night there.

I am watching 'Young Frankenstein' on youtube in 10-minute segments, btw. Hilarious. Thanks, Alan.
