Water Sources on San Jacinto

Before I call the ranger: Does anyone know how the water sources on the West side of the mountain are? I am doing Fuller Ridge trailhead-Strawberry Junction campground, will I run in to anything, or will I have to go out of my way?

Nobody knows water conditions for the West side of the mountain? Fuller Ridge, Little Round Valley, Strawberry junction?

While I was doing the Strawberry loop from the tram on Saturday I observed water at these locations: Round Valley, Wellman's Cienaga, a little at Strawberry Cienega (on Strawberry/PCT trail), very good flow at Bed Springs (Deer Springs Trail), a little at the spring that runs across the trail a bit below Little Round Valley, and none at all at Little round Valley.

Hi Gardengee, I don't see it on your map, but Bed Springs crosses the Deer Springs Trail about 1/2 mile down the trail from Little Round Valley. It is perhaps halfway between the Fuller Ridge Junction and Little Round Valley.

If you are starting from Fuller Ridge trailhead and do not want to go up to San Jacinto Peak, Bed Springs will be out of your way. But, I forgot to say that there was some water at Deer Springs which you will cross soon after the Fuller Ridge Junction of the Deer Springs Trail as you head down to the Strawberry Campground.

I spoke with the ranger at Mountain Station yesterday and was told that the spigot at Round Valley is flowing, but not very fast. I'm heading up this weekend and plan on staying on the east side of San Jacinto peak. Does anyone know of any water sources near Round Valley besides the spigot?

I've not heard of any although occasionally you may find some pools in the creek.

If Round Valley isn't flowing, your last reliable source is the Long Valley Ranger Station or the Tram's Mountain Station.

Just came down yesterday, I picked up some water at Wellman Cienega and then again at Round Valley. I collected enough water at Cienega and then topped off at Round Valley.

Hi all, I hiked to the peak via Devil's Slide this past Saturday, May 17 and there was flowing water at Wellman's cienega. Not a lot, but after digging out a little pit, you could pump water or you could catch the falling water. It likely won't last long though.
