Is there anyway to break this up in two one night? I am guessing this is also advisable only during certain times of the year? Are there any profiles or true trail maps of this hike?
Thanks and enjoy your trip, be safe!
The trail is obvious and is listed in any of the PCT material for that area, once you get to Fuller Ridge and come to the juntion in/near Marion Mountain Trail there signs that show you where to turn left to head to the summit and from there it's fairly straight forward hike to Wellmans Divide and back to the Tram.
C2C versus PCT (from Snow Creek to Summit and back to Tram) the Skyline trial is steeper until you get into Long Valley then it's a casual hike to the summit and back. That's approximately 21 miles roughly to do the full C2C, the PCT hike is slightly harder because after climbing for 22 miles those last three miles to the summit from Fuller Ridge area put's you to the test, then you get to head downhill to the tram but you are basically spent by then. Having put in 25+ miles to the summit you know you've been going uphill all day, there's very few flat spots just a two mile section on the ridge by Black Mountain Truck Trail Camp that is less steep and the PCT hike starts at 1,200 feet and you gain 9,630 in elevation with very few places to get water, at least the C2C has the Tram snack bar in the middle. Just my Humble Opinion.
