I should have re-read your initial post before commented. You said was just you and a friend. The group i described looked like an extended family of 6 or so people.

It's hard to jab at short people. Uppercuts work better.

No jab at short folks, Steve. You know I would never do that. Besides life has already dealt them such a severe blow; far be it from me to add insult to injury.

Back from the wild and still in one piece. The hiking was tough in some parts with 35+ lbs. on my back, but we did it and had a great time. The scenery was fantastic. Thanks Jim for the tip on Caramba.

Wow! Dennis, great pics. Really first rate. Thanks for posting 'em, and POST MORE. :)

Re Caramba, did you get all the way down to the big pool below the lower falls? I hope that wasn't too tough if you did. I tried to make it clear that it was steep. I hope I didn't recommend something over your comfort level. It's such a nice spot though, that I think it's worth visiting, and you seldom get crowds there. Hopefully the trail wasn't too faint either.

Thanks for the compliments. Indeed the planet is a beautiful place... we just need to get out and see it.

I didn't get down to the lower pool, I totally forgot about it! Probably wouldn't have attempted it anyways. But the stream was refreshing and camping there was the best out of all the sites we were at.
