Oh, why thank you.

Sometimes a few tidbits of info and a couple of questions can stimulate our thinking -- and make for a safer and more enjoyable hike. I hope my remarks are at least occasionally helpful. :D

Soooo, reading all of your posts, I am understanding that you don't think there will be any ice on Skyline? I have axe and crampons packed, but was hoping to just leave the gear in the car and not tote it up. It is so much fun to read everything you folks post, it sounds like a really fun community you have. This will be my first time on the trail, really looking forward to it, and it sounds like I will see a few of you out there!.

I doubt you'll run into any snow/ice. I'm not bringing any winter gear.

I was up there last weekend. If there was any snow, which I doubt, it is most likely melted by now. Unless we have another storm between now and then.

We haven't done C2C before but are all experienced climbers. Just did Whitney a few weeks ago and had a great day. We are all prepared for a long day. See everyone at the trail.

Tina, that sentence is a model of clarity. ;) There is snow, so there will be none [ice]. Good thing you work for the paper. :D

Skyline Saturday

Postby Ellen » Thu Nov 06, 2008 9:42 pm

Howdy Cy and Kathy :-)

What time are you leaving on Saturday? My hiking buddy Lance and I would like to coordinate starting times so we can either start together or connect on the trail.

Howdy other Skyliners :-)

Hope to see other regulars on the trail.

Which reminds me, I need to fix the shoulder strap on my daypack -- Skyline is even hard on packs :-)

Howdy Z-dude :-)

Look forward to reading about your Snow Creek adventure -- another trail that I'd like to do in the future.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
