PSAR

my apologies, tina.

for the record... I wasn't really addressing you or the other regular skyliners who are familiar with the skyline, who hike on a regular basis, who are in GREAT shape, and who have been training for this challenge, such as Ellen doing one on Sat then another on Sun. I was primarily trying to scare the carp out of those who are none of the above. But, perhaps, the first hike up will be enough to discourage those who are unprepared for a second. (Consider it my attempt at PSAR - Preventative Search and Rescue.) Lord knows there have been enough tragedies and near tragedies on the Skyline this year.

I've had the carp scared out of me before....really a weird feeling when it's happening.

Hello -

Anyone know what time the parking lot at the tram closes for the night? Want to make sure I get the car dropped off in time.

Thanks!

Martin

no harm lipbiter, i completely understand that, i really hope this is not a rescue day for anyone attempting to do one or two skylines and/or even c2c. i know there are numerous groups going up that day. i hope everyone uses caution before they attempt to go up and has enough sense to do the "right" thing once they are up there.
on the flip side, thank goodness i have a couple rn's coming up that day to hike as well as a firefighter, lets hope the only job they have to do that day is hiking though.

Did it make you feel like a fish out of water?

I think this hike will put me over 250,000 ft gain in the past year. I don't think that will happen again

one of my 54 dear students must have paid me back for making them do a Wingate Test last week by giving me a good cold/flu. hopefully i'll recover quickly enough to get in a few good workout sessions this week. can't go into a double marathon not prepared!

Tram road is closed promptly at 10PM (and locked). Park in the overnight lots, A & B. You won't be able to get in the building (phone/restrooms) after 9PM. Road gates are usually open by 6AM.
