I went with a group on Saturday. Thanks to Lilbitmo for the insights on the winter route. I'd done a few variations close to this route, but not exactly that particular alignment before. It was a really nice day on the mountain. Although it did get a bit cool and breezy while on the summit.

Snow/Trail Conditions: mostly snow & ice with only a few patches of dirt from the bottom of the sidewalk at the tram station. By Tamarack Valley it was all snow. mostly consolidated but we did encounter a few stretches of post-hole mine fields. We all talked about bringing snowwhoes but only two of our seven person summit group ended up bring theirs. It wasn't too terrible without snowshoes but the occasional punching through in hip deep snow was frustrating. Not quite enough snow for skis with some of very tops of the brush still showing. This next storm might completely cover the Manzanita and Chipaquin.

Nice to hear the bushes are finally getting covered - if the storm this week is good, conditions should be great up there - it's such nice gentle terrain all the way from the tram station to the summit and often peaceful once you get away from the crowds at the tram station.
