General Palm Springs area.

Any updates on the weather? I'm seeing online that it's snowing - is it heavy snow?

Looks like several inches have fallen on Long Valley.

If there's that much at Long Valley, there's probably even more on the summit. The Weather Service says we could get several more inches by this weekend.

It might still be doable. I'd probably bring boots instead of shoes at a minimum. When the snow is fresh, one typically doesn't need crampons or micro spikes. If there's deep snow, then snow shoes might be good, especially if you're the first on the trail.

That would be amazing if it's still doable. I suppose I'll check back tomorrow to get a better picture of where the weather's at then.

Thanks for the Tram-cam link. I may rethink snowshoes if it looks a lot worse before I hit the trail.

If anyone climbs Saturday please report conditions!

Howdy Davenose :)

I'm headed up the tram tomorrow with friends to snowshoe to the peak 8) I'll try to post a message to the board regarding conditions when we're back at the tram.

You think there's enough snow to need snowshoes?
