Nice to have you here on the board. Despite the headwinds, your responses were most polite, and you have an exceptional ability to assume positive intent.
Since you've done the route several times, I'm having a hard time imagining you running into unexpected trouble, and 73 is actually relatively cool for starting. It'll probably be in the 50's or low 60's at Grubbs Notch.
Incidentally, besides danger to others, there's a real concern amongst many who do Skyline (and C2C) that if too many rescues take place, the trail will be closed altogether, and everybody loses. It is my understanding that there is some attempt already underway to make that happen , so everybody is perhaps feeling under pressure and thus overly cautious. Since you're a repeat offender (figurative language there, I mean since you've done the route several times) like many of us, you'll probably understand what a loss it would be to have the trail blocked.
