Looking for a Guide up Cactus-to-Cloud!

General Palm Springs area.

ZD - I just can't make up my mind if you should be doing stand up or marketing. I think you'd do well in either one!

Hikin_Jim - I don't recommend coming as Kathette and wearing heals for the Saturday get together. The ground is uneven around the tables.

Thanks for all the replies!

Sorry I went missing for a while. I thought this post would notify me of replies by email like Mt. Whitney's board but I guess I must not have selected that option. Oh well. I hope the get together was fun last weekend! Sorry I missed it!

So I climb Mt. Whitney at least five times per season in about 10 hours roundtrip (that includes an hour nap and a couple of rest stops to puke). But I'm not here to do C2C fast. I want to do it right and enjoy it. I'm not looking for someone to run it with me, just let me tag along so I don't get lost. I just got a new camera so I kinda want to go slow anyway.

Finally--and this may be rude of me--but I guide people for free up Whitney so please don't email me if you want to charge me $800. That's just ridiculous.

Cy / Kathy...you up for it? I'm thinking 10/6?

I'll be up for it on 10/6 if the weather is cool enough. But I'm slower than you. The fastest I've done Whitney is 13 hours and this last trip it took even longer.

I'm going to do a Rim to Rim to Rim hike at the Grand Canyon the 15/16 of October, so C2C will be a good one to do 10 days prior.

heels? I'm not much of a girlie girl - you won't see me in heels very often.

Zip - I already do run a few steps on the Skyline - that downhill section. :)

I am going to try do a little more trail running this fall and winter - it really does seem to be helping me get stronger.

Jackie - October is a great month for Skyline. An hour or two before daylight would be a good time to go. Two hours before dawn if its warm. See you there.

Sounds like the right group for me. I'd anticipate a 9 hour journey for myself early October and would love to join the group - next year after I have time to get in shape for such a long hike! Not sure I can be healthy enough this year, I think shorter distance summits need to be my main doing (and more often) through Oct this year. (-:

I'll be that offer for $800 was from a rabid eday junkie. They were bidding on a chance to guide you up C2C.
