Road to Seven Pines trailhead open?

General Palm Springs area.

I didn't think it would be open, you'd think a ranger would have a better idea. Not saying anything bad about him, just closing roads seems like something the forest service ought to be told about, even if it's not them doing the closing. Glad you guys had a good adventure. I'll shoot you some pics tonight of my latest wilderness adventure.

I notice that who ever is in charge of the dirt roads around Idyllwild seem's more concerned with blocking off side roads than keeping the main roads open. I have seen lot's of work being done in the past to do things like cut down trees and move giant rocks to block off side roads while the main dirt road remains almost impassable. My feeling is that they just don't want to bother with people going down the side roads even though they are used legaly once you dish out the $ for a permit to do things like cut wood to heat our homes.

By the way we don't cut down tree's we just cut up what the FS has already cut down and that's alot.
