Final Details for Get Together this Saturday

General Palm Springs area.

I have fond memories of the Barton Flats campground. Was the first time Wen and i took our son Kai (he's almost 21 now) camping. He was 6 weeks old. I don't think they had the showers and flush toilets back then. I don't camp much at Barton much any more frankly because they have flush toilets and showers.

Thanks for all the PM's and replies here. It looks like Barton Flats is the favorite, and HJ, the facilities there are very nice and strikingly clean!

Steve, you were all perfect guests at our home and are all welcome there anytime and all the time. The camping at Barton Flats just opens up extra options.

So, I'll look into reserving a couple of spots and I'll hopefully talk with a bunch of you at the Moonlight Madness this weekend. This is plenty of notice - about 6 weeks in advance, so I'm hoping anyone who wants to come will be able to get this onto their calendar before the summer gets too busy!

So, for a potluck sort of sign up, post and let us know whatcha wanna bring.

Well, for starters, being the stove guy, I have a couple of two burner "suitcase" style stoves. I'll bring those if we need to heat things. I have add'l single burner stoves. You need heat? I got heat.

Right here:

It's a nice campground with clean facilities and very close to trails. If you've done Vivian Creek, it's on the opposite side of the ridge, where the approaches to San G come in from the north.

Haven't been posting here in a while due to some nagging injuries in the fall/winter that prevented me from getting out on the trails (stress fracture among them). Things look OK now, but I won't be able to make it for the oddest of reasons - I already have an overnight wilderness permit (June 25/26) starting and ending at South Fork, overnighting at the summit :o Haven't camped on top in a few years and thought it would be nice in mid-June after a majority of the snow melts away 8) .
3 of the 5 voices in my head are telling me to "Go for it!"

I am hoping to attend the great event, wherever it is held. Eric may be far away, as he is setting up a complicated summer schedule that combines his geology major with being outdoors a lot (where the rocks are).
