I've been following this morning too, very cool. I wonder if she'll make it to the tram before sunset?

Almost to Fuller Ridge, probably be there by 1:30. That's the last possible bailout point. I have a call and a text in to her, and there is some reception at Fuller Ridge, It's easier to text than to call there, but she can probably get a message out if she wants. She knows how to alert help with the SPOT as well.

That leaves about 3 hours til dusk, which would make it feasible to get to the peak by then, but not down to the tram. Omitting the peak rockpile and just coming over the saddle from LRV and heading down would put her at least on the path towards the tram before dark.

She was primarily concerned with a whiteout condition, which is why she's up there now (while it's clear) instead of tomorrow. I hope she's having a blast. It's such a beautiful trail. Go Ellen!

Looking at the tramcam, it's sunny and clear up there right now.

If she takes the Sid Davis route down, that might cut off some time -- or was she already planning that?

Go, Ellen!

She definitely won't take Sid Davis, at least not intentionally (when you're reading this Ellen- sorry, couldn't resist:)

OK, my bad. Sorry. What was I thinking? The Sid Davis route in the dark wouldn't be much fun for anyone, least of all Ellen.

Ellen, who knew you'd be creating so much vicarious fun for the rest of us? On the other hand, productivity levels here in Southern California have dropped today as your trail family keeps track of you!

It's 4:20, you're just about to hit LRV. Probably make the saddle by nightfall, then it's all downhill to the tram. I'm already looking forward to the TR.
