Also heading up the Tram on Sunday the 24th. Going to be 4 of us so far leaving about 5:30-6am from the Museum. Hiked up to around 5,000ft and back down with Drinkbrew a few weeks ago so were going for the summit Sunday.

Howdy All :)

The Weather Channel is showing a low of 58 and high of 76 for Sat and a low of 61 and high of 81 for Sun 8) For the summit, the NOAA link is showing a high of 42 for Sat and 51 for Sun.

I will likely start at 5 AM. I'll post a definite start time Sat afternoon.

Looks like a great weekend for Skyline :)

Ellen

Thanks for the update Ellen, as we are newbies we will still be starting at 4. Maybe you will pass us? I will most likely be wearing red.

Yep, I'll be there too. Just discovered PowerBar gels contain 200mg of sodium compared to the 50mg in Gu. Hopefully this will prevent a repeat of cramping up two weeks ago, consuming neat salt that made me sick, and the occasional thought that I'd prefer to have been skydiving handcuffed and blindfolded without a parachute...

Howdy Lesper :)

I'll likely start at 5 AM. Look forward to meeting you on the trail.

Haven't decided what to wear yet -- the privilege of being a woman  However, you can recognize me quite easily -- look for the blonde with the bloody legs

My buddy Mark will be wearing a red carnation :P

Ellen

Howdy Kathryn :)

I'll absolutely wait for you, my friend 8) If I feel good enough to summit, you'll be waiting for me

Just checked the weather forecast for Palm Springs, should be about 58 degrees at 5 AM -- yea!

San Summit forecast -- partly sunny, with a high near 50. West wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Well we made it, took 7.5 hours to get to the station but the summit took much longer at least it felt that way becase Skyline kicked our but. Had 30 mins for lunch in Round Valley and then spent about 40 min on the peak with COLD blowing winds and snow all over the place which I wasnt expecting. We made it back to the staton by 6:30. All in all it was a great trip and I met a bunch of great people on the trail. I will have to post some of my pictures up some time this week.
