The Trango EVO GTX (red ones) are really a lightweight 3 season boot, not insulated, not intended for winter. I used the Vasque M-Finity boot on Shasta, and I also use them on San Jacinto in the winter:

These are nice boots in every respect except that the tips of the Vibram soles wear too rapidly if you do much climbing on rock in them. The kind of boot you need for Shasta and winter mountaineering is this kind of boot, i.e. light, GoreTex, made with various tough synthetic fabrics like Kevlar, maybe some leather but not a traditional leather boot. Most importantly, insulated with Thinsulate or Primaloft or something similar.
