If there's no talking you out of it, would you consider a pair of these?

Staying in the trees is less risky I think.

Snow Creek - North face of San Jacinto

Perry is right. Conditions should be tricky this year.
Here are two videos - The first one is a Summitpost climb two years ago, and the second one is a four mile hike up the PCT from Snow Creek

Snow Creek - North Face of San Jacinto

Here is a link that should be of interest. It is dangerous even with someone that has done it before. Avalanches are prevalent in a heavy snow year.

Snow Creek at any time of the year.

Postby classvtony » Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:28 pm

I used to live a little concrete block house at the top of the loop of Snow Creek. For some of the time I lived there I was in Riverside mountain rescue. I don't know if he is still alive, but a guy named Cliff Cummins used to do Snow Creek and awful lot. My friend Ralph Glenn and I followed him up one day that he was dogging and it took him five hours.
We finished two hours later, and I was barely dodging cramps in my quadriceps.
Supposedly the quickest he went up it was three hours and 59 minutes.
This was a winter ascent sometime in the late 70s.
Cliff was the ultimate minimalist. At least in some ways. He was some kind of doctor, owned a single place P. 51 Mustang airplane and used to date 19-year-old professional ice skaters. At least that's what they looked like.
