Dumb ass's like me and the San Jacinto's in snow.

As some of you might know I just started hiking around 8 month's ago after 20 year's of ultra marithon cycling and moving up to Idyllwild from Newport Beach CA. At first I was being carefull taking short hike's not to far from road's that got old so I started hiking all over the San Jacinto's that was safe enough. Then 1 day it snow'd so I started slow to learn about snow camping first camping out close by.Then up on the PCT N of Devils Slide that was nice so I thought I was ready for more of a challenge so I hit the PCT Crossing Apache peak and all the sheer drop's coverd in shoot's to Devil's slide with just hiking poles and microspike I proubly had as much experance a month or so ago when I did it as some of the poster's that want to do Skyline in the snow have but it turned out that I diden't have a clue all the book's in the world couldent prep me. I normaly just do thing's like the early start on my PCT thru 151 mile section hike but the snow changes everything when your talkeng San Jacinto's and thankfully I have compleated all the PCT up here to snow creek at 1 time or another several times so I'm heading N at snow creek. Some peak's might have a rep but I found any cliff with a snow shoot covering could be deadly. All I'm trying to say is iff your not Joe snow it's way easy to get in over your head so please be carfull you might make it past a bunch of danger get way out there to were you think it's better to go on than turn around like I did and take risk's you normaly wouldent. Thank's guy's I'm glad you enjoyed it. Avid I edit them myself I'm still learning it's fun. HH8 I feel sorry for anyone who follow's my footprints/postholes back there that was the part of my learning curve before I learned not to even try to follow the trail in deep snow. My basecamp is moving to the the Yuck AKA Yucca valley this Sat untill I finish the PCT. My son lives there and is handeling my resupply's. I want to do Skyline with the group inbetween PCT sections maby even next week if if if ??. I got a lot of time to blow before I hit the Sierras. The Yuck is a lot closer to PS in a car.

lilbitmo nowere did I mention DWA. I haven't been down there yet so I can't coment on something I know very little about. And with what's going on with them it might be wise not to untill some action is in progress the hill's have ears. The PCTA is working on that proublem as far as the PCT is concerned. I know very little about the non PCT snow cr. Our beef is with another. I'm sure it's safe to say that they are all on a unacceptable power trip tough.

Got it, you mentioned Bluerails issue with one entity so I tied the two together in my head, my mistake - though he's not the only one on this board to have had a run in with them. Hope you get past whatever issue it is with the other "non-profit(my ass)" water agency you are referring to?

Power trip is putting it mildly - "Police State" to some extent is a better reference - when they start running license plates of people park along state highway or roads without the authority to do so they are violating the law and stepping way over the line - you'd think we were trying to get into the USSR by way of East Germany the way they have handled this, just glad to hear the PCT is looking into it as well.
