Where can you park overnight if you are doing the skyline trail from the museam? Does the museam parking alot allow overnight parking?

Is the tram open on thanksgiving weekend?

Is there water on top of the mountain?

Some answers to your questions.

1. Park on the street near the museum, overnight parking is not allowed in the museum parking lots.

2. The tram is open Thanksgiving and all holidays, that's when they have the most customers.

3. No water on the peak. Water is available in Long Valley/Tram station and most of the time in Round Valley.

You might want to treat the water in Round Valley. Trust me on this one.

Just so you know Jim, I'm afraid to drink that water straight outta the pipe anymore. After the rat thing it has never tasted the same.

and btw, I'm very bad about eating other peoples food.

I love the rat water and have only consumed it without treatment or adverse effects for 25 years.

Vitamin Water has been a huge success I wonder if "Protein Water" will do as well.

OK, I'll bite...what is the rat in the water story? For the record, I have been drinking the water at Round Valley (and a few places elsewhere on the mountain) with no treatment for 25 years with no ill effects). But I'm curious about this story...

Three cities in this area are in the top 10 nationally each year for the best tasting tap water. Yucca Valley, Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs with one of the 3 normally winning. Its still amazing how much bottled water gets purchased in these communities.

Its the same with the mountain water. Someone knows someone that got sick. It had to be the water. I think they drank the KoolAid.
