Hi ohiker. Snow Creek is a tiny community just off Hwy 111, the first exit east of where Hwy 111 splits off of I-10. I think the trailhead is about 9 miles west of the intersection of the Tram Road and the 111.
The trail winds gently up the mountain - it's not steep - but it's 31 miles from trailhead to tram. When you're on the peak, you can see directly back down to Snow Creek (looking north), so it's really fun to see your starting point from the top.
I doubt there's any snow or ice after these very mild rains we've had here, but if there is, it'll only be a very small amount, so I wouldn't let that affect your planning at this point.
Hope you have a great trip either route.
