Trying to get free to go tomorrow. Does anyone who if the conditions are still good?

It's warmer than I'd like but I'm planning to head up tomorrow. Probably leave around 4.30am. Anyone else?

Left at 3.52am this morning. I was concerned about the temperature as it was 72 when I left. However, it was dry and very windy most of the way to 4300'. Didn't feel too bad at all. Met a young couple who'd come up from Ramon on their first Skyline attempt at the first cairn, passed a group of six on the shady slope and one single guy at around 4000'. Didn't know any of them.

It had been my intention to use this as a conditioning hike; an aching back has prevented any major efforts since October 18. Was therefore very surprised to discover I'd reached flat rock in 3:57. Had a short rest and made the top at 9.28am in 5:36, my best by three minutes.

It was a stunning morning. The sunrise was spectacular and I was heading towards the almost full moon for most of the hike.

That was me, just mosey-ing along. What a beautiful morning it was. I didn't need to use my headlamp at all with the moon shining so bright. Glad to put a face (or back of your head) to a name on this msg board... 3:57? Happy to say my haulin-ass days are finally over...

A belated "hi" again, Pup! Did you see the young couple I mentioned? Probably in their 20's and on their first Skyline. They were fairly close behind me, and going at a decent clip, but I didn't see them again after the top of the Shady Slope. I was wondering how they got along.

They caught up to me as I sat eating a PB&J. Very friendly, very talkative we would pass each other as the other would take a break. We all arrived at Long Valley about a minute apart. They may have kept on going to the peak as I was done for the day and headed to the tram station and never saw them again.
