Took off from Humber Park on Friday afternoon, overnighted at Round Valley. Sat morning went to San Jacinto Peak and then out through Humber Park. Great hike. We had 4 adults and 3 Boy Scouts on the trip.
Trail was cool temps most of the way, got a little warm on the exposed part of the trail from Wellman Divide to the peak. Water flow was good at Round Valley, a little trickle at the Wellman Cienaga section, and seepage on the Devil's Slide section, but otherwise no water.
Friday night at Round Valley it was pretty chilly---you could feel fall is here, and winter temps seem like they're not far off. I'm guessing it was in the mid-to-low 40s at night, but we didn't have a thermometer with us, so not sure.
The hut is filled with water and emergency supplies---nice to see for those who need help.
We saw a lot of hikers on our way down from the peak. Most seemed to be coming from the tram. Further down the trail, a lot of hikers on Devil's Slide and the section right after Devil's Slide, traveling toward Wellman.
Beatiful weekend for hiking!
