Reego: keep your eye on the weather, it's warming up here again. The daytime high in Palm Springs is forecast to be at least 20 degrees warmer than it was on Saturday. Make sure you get an early start.

I agree with vasona, a GPS pre-loaded with a track (preferably one that displays the track on a topo map) is a good idea. There are a couple of places you can go wrong. One of them is right after the picnic tables. There is an arrow painted on a rock that points left. If you follow this, you can easily end up on the trail that descends back toward Ramon road. I did this for awhile last Saturday, as did another group. Then I realized I was trending too far East and turned around and got out the GPS. I used it to get back on track. The GPS track I followed was the one I made when Cy took me up last April. It goes toward the right at the picnic tables.
