Anyone been up to Horse Thief Creek lately and see if there is a trickle left? Chuck and I are planning to walk over to the cafe and grab a beer on Saturday.
I dont know about the water situation this year, but prior to this they say that there is year round water to encourage the vegetation in the pictures supplied. The water comment is under the first picture.

Last year (December 2, 2006) we hiked to Martinez Mountain - there wasn't any water along the Cactus Springs Trail at that time. I'd be pleasantly surprised to hear that there's water now.
We're planning on giving it a go so I'll try to bring back some photos and a water report. Sure hope the cafe doesn't run out of beer before we get there. Its the only good reason to walk that far unless a Big Horn jumps out on the trail.
Was up that trail about a month ago, there is no water running at horsetheif creek. You can find water at cactus spring about 4 miles east of horsetheif. You can also find water near the cowboy camp if you have time to sit around and wait. (you can get about a pint to a quart ea. hour+/-.
