After Thanksgiving's carbohydrate loading, Marilyn and I headed up yesterday at 6 AM. It was wonderful to start without a headlamp and watch the sunrise.

The cool weather was a gift as we climbed.

It started snowing lightly at St. Florian's point (aka Potato Chip Point), so we donned warmer clothing and gloves. Coming into Flatrock.

Climbing up to the traverse. I had to don down mittens due to my cold sensitive hands.

Cactus to clouds and snow. We started passing folks who had started about 3:30 AM and asked "How much further?"

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Marilyn in her element.

Heading up the rocks to the tram -- rime ice galore and critter tracks (raccoon?).

A splendid day.
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
