Devils Slide Trail Conditions

I have used this forum for help researching past trips but this is my first time posting a question. This weekend, I am planning on taking a small group of boy scouts up Devils Slide Trail, camping in Chinquapin Zone and then proceeding to Tahquitz Peak the next day. Due to the recent weather, I am concerned that there will be snow or ice on the trail. Has anyone been up there recently that can provide current trail conditions?

I have not been up lately. The USFS in Idyllwild has rangers up ther regularly and can give you the latest info. It seems possible that you may have some ice early in the morning. More than a little would surprise me.
